Simpleview to Commemorate New Headquarters with Open House Event This Friday / 06/19/2018 3:46 pm

June 19, 2018 - Simpleview, the travel and tourism industry’s leading provider of CRM, CMS, website design, digital marketing, revenue generation, and mobile technologies for destination organizations (DMOs), proudly announces the move of its Tucson headquarters to Oro Valley. To commemorate the move, Simpleview will open its new home to the public for an open house event this Friday, June 22 from 3:30-7:00 p.m. at 8950 N. Oracle Road.

“The Town of Oro Valley is excited to welcome Simpleview to our business community,” said Dr. Satish I. Hiremath, Mayor, Town of Oro Valley. “Not only does Simpleview help us build on our brand as a hub for high-tech employers, but it is also a great story of home-grown entrepreneurs who have chosen to return to Oro Valley because it is the kind of community where families and businesses thrive and succeed.”

“Simpleview’s mission is to provide an environment where caring for others, quality, productivity and accountability drive profit, innovation, and service excellence,” said Simpleview CEO Ryan George. “That’s a mouthful, but our physical environment should exemplify that statement, so having more of our staff under one roof will foster collaboration and increase efficiencies as a result. We have fewer offices, more open workspaces, motorized sit/stand workstations throughout, almost double the meetings space, and pop-ins for when people need an office for calls or one-on-one meetings.”

Friday’s open house will begin promptly at 3:30 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Mayor Hiremath, George and Simpleview co-founders Bill Simpson and Scott Wood (currently the company’s chief technology officer and chief operating officer, respectively). Immediately following the ribbon cutting, guests are encouraged to tour the new facility and meet with the Simpleview staff. Food and light refreshments will be provided.

Simpleview began in Tucson back in 2001 as a four-person start-up; it now employs more than 235 people with offices in Tucson, Pittsburgh, and Oslo, Norway. The technology company serves more than 450 customers throughout North America and around the world, and, for 11 consecutive years, has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. So while George needed more room for his ever-growing staff, he was convinced Simpleview’s headquarters would remain in Tucson.

“As I travel the world, I tell anyone who will listen just how amazing Tucson is and that Simpleview might not exist had we tried to start it in another city better known for tech,” said George. “The extraordinary cost of living and office space in other cities wouldn’t have made it possible to hire or retain the talent we have or provide the environment that we are able to.”

“Beyond the cost of doing business, I also believe that Tucson is an ideal place for start-ups,” added George. “The University of Arizona provides a steady stream of talent from an MIS program that is consistently ranked among the best in the country; our quality of life is second to none; and employment opportunities for spouses and partners at places like Ventana Medical, Raytheon, and Davis Monthan are abound.”

George and Simpson both grew up in Oro Valley, a suburb of Tucson, and attended Canyon Del Oro High School, then the University of Arizona. Now Simpleview’s home base, the Town of Oro Valley was named one of the 100 Best Places in America to Live and Launch a Small Business by Fortune Small Business magazine in 2008.

“As our employees are getting accustomed to their new home, they’re discovering how amazing a place Oro Valley is to live, work, and play,” said George. “One of my business partners and I happen to live in Oro Valley, and while it might be a bit of a trek for some, I would venture to guess that many will move to the area given the amazing schools, natural beauty, and amenities that I’ve been lucky enough to see develop over the past 40 years. We’re excited to bring our business, staff, and visitors to the community.”

JAMES EDMUND DATRI TO STEP DOWN AS AAF NATIONAL'S PRESIDENT & CEO IN OCTOBER / 05/08/2018 2:08 pm

James Edmund DatriWASHINGTON, D.C., May 8, 2018—American Advertising Federation Board Chair Kim Kelleher announced today that the Federation's longtime President & CEO, James Edmund Datri, has informed the Federation's officers that he will step down from his AAF post on October 10th of this year, after completing 10 years of service to the organization.

Kelleher is calling a special meeting this month of the AAF Board to discuss the formation of a committee to lead the search for Datri's successor. The Board will also meet in Chicago next month, as part of the organization's annual ADMERICA event, where Kelleher says the Federation will celebrate Datri's decade-long tenure.

Kim Kelleher said: "Jim began his tenure with the AAF in the midst of the 2008 financial crisis, and navigated the Federation through those difficult waters to new-found success.  Among the many highlights of Jim's tenure were his moving the annual Advertising Hall of Fame event from a luncheon to a grand dinner, quintupling its revenue and increasing its stature and attendance; and transforming the Hall of Achievement into a successful bi-coastal event, now held in alternating years in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco."

James Edmund Datri said: "I love this organization, its members, its mission, and its unique place in our industry, and it will always be one of my life's greatest joys and honors to have served as its president and CEO.  With the amazing talent in this industry and in our organization, I am confident the Federation's Board will select an incredible new AAF president, and I look forward to working with that new leader to ensure the AAF reaches even greater heights in the years ahead. As for my next step, what began as a side passion project with my godson and cousin Colby Reed Miller, producing films under the Miller/Datri Pictures banner, I now look forward to pursuing full-time with him in October, and to further expanding that into a larger entertainment and production company."
